The Grossmont Healthcare District’s Health & Wellness Library is designed to meet the health information needs of East County San Diego. It is a library specializing in health-related materials providing books, DVDs, pamphlets, magazines, newsletters, online resources, and its website with extensive links to reliable sources for all major health topics. Sharp Grossmont Hospital
Sharp Grossmont Hospital is the largest and most comprehensive healthcare facility in East County. Grossmont Hospital offers quality care and services that set community standards, exceed patients’ expectations and are provided in a caring, convenient, cost-effective, and accessible manner.
211 San Diego
As a local nonprofit organization, 211 San Diego is the region’s trusted source for information and connections to community, health, and disaster resources. Help is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and in more than 200 languages. They maintain a database of more than 6,000 services and resources that are updated on a real-time basis and our Community Connectors help connect San Diegans to the accurate information they need.
Alert San Diego
San Diego County’s emergency notification system can make phone calls to people and businesses when an emergency or disaster is happening or about to happen. It’s used by emergency workers to tell people what’s going on and what they should do (like leave their homes, stay inside, or watch out for a gas leak or a missing person). The system can call both listed and unlisted landline phones using the 9-1-1 phone list from the local phone companies.
County of San Diego – Health and Human Services Agency
The Health and Human Services Agency is one of five groups or divisions of the San Diego County government. They provide a broad range of health and social services to promote wellness, self-sufficiency, and a better quality of life for individuals and families in San Diego County.
Cuyamaca College
Cuyamaca College offers a wide scope of challenging courses, from drafting technology and child development to paralegal training, from computer and information science or ornamental horticulture to automotive technology.
East County Homeless Task Force
The East County Homeless Task Force (ECHTF) is a community-based volunteer reference tool for accessing local resources as part of the East County Chamber of Commerce. The ECHTF engages and educates our communities about housing and services for preventing and ending homelessness. They advocate for policies that result in housing and service options appropriate to East County’s range of housing needs.
East County Wildfire Alerts
Sign up to receive free Wildfire & Emergency Alerts and/or a weekly e-newsletter. Alerts come via e-mail, so unlike phone alerts, they can reach you even if phone lines or cell phone towers burn down. They cover wildfires, flash floods, major highway shutdowns, severe weather alerts, and other emergencies.
