The Grossmont Healthcare District awards TEN candidates who are currently enrolled in a related health care technician program or who have graduated from a health care related technical program within the past 6 months (as a form of tuition reimbursement with the Health Tech Scholarship, 5 in the amount of $5,000 (1st place) and 5 in the amount of $3,000 (2nd place) (examples of eligible programs are listed below).

Eligibility
New applicants are eligible to apply for this scholarship if at least one of the following apply (verify using the District map):
- You are a current resident who lives within the Grossmont Healthcare District boundaries (and have been so for a minimum of one year)
- You are a current employee who works for an organization within the District’s boundaries (for at least two years)
- OR you have previously graduated from a high school within the District boundaries
Previous recipients of the Health Tech scholarship are not eligible to reapply.
Application Items
The following documentation is requested to fill out the application form:
- Proof of the above eligibility criteria via supporting documents such as (utility bills, paystubs, high school diplomas etc.)
- Proof of current enrollment in an accredited school.
- Proof of course of instruction – see eligible programs below. Please contact us at info@grossmonthealthcare.org if your field is not listed to check for eligibility.
- Faculty Advisor’s name
- Faculty Advisor’s phone
- Faculty Advisor’s email address
- An essay (no more than 500 words) titled “My Career: Where I Will Be Five Years From Now?”

Awards Process
Winners will be selected and voted upon at the regular monthly Board of Directors meeting in either late February or early March. Winners will be contacted shortly thereafter and invited to attend the awards ceremony.
Awards Ceremony Info
Students will be asked to participate in a public award ceremony with other post-secondary and high school scholarship award winners, held on Friday, May 16, at 7:30 AM, Doors open at 7 AM, where they will receive their certificates, have their photos taken with the Board, and be asked to take a group photo at the end. We encourage all awardees and their friends/family to attend.
Photo waivers will need to be completed by the students prior to the ceremony. Click here to complete a photo release waiver. Once executed, email it to info@grossmonthealthcare.org. We encourage all awardees to attend.
