Join librarians from San Diego Circuit Libraries to learn about free tools you can use to help the local community find reliable health information. We’ll explore an online health guide, social media toolkit, and print resources in 9 languages.

Presenter Bios:

Margaret Henderson is Associate Professor and Health Sciences Librarian at San Diego State University. She works with students and faculty in the Schools of Exercise & Nutrition Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, and Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences. She has over 35 years of experience as a biomedical librarian, working in research centers, hospitals, and academic libraries.  She is the author of Data Management: A Practical Guide for Librarians (Rowman & Littlefield, 2016). Margaret has given lectures, presented nationally and internationally, and written papers about data and biomedical sciences librarianship, evidence-based practice, and the future of health librarianship.

Danielle Reeves has worked in health promotion for nearly 2 decades, internationally and domestically. Her target populations have ranged from university students in Hong Kong to orphans in Peru, to military families in San Diego, and more. Her work with diverse clients requires ongoing development in communication skills, especially Health Literacy. With each new population, she enjoys learning from the people she serves as much as she does sharing her own skills and expertise. Danielle currently contracts with the San Diego County Epidemiology and Immunizations Branch, with a focus on infectious disease prevention and response in K-12 schools.

Missy Solis is the Community Engagement & Outreach Manager at San Diego County Library (SDCL). During her time at SDCL, she’s supported county-wide adult learning programs and has participated as a member of the San Diego Health Information Partnership, a collaborative effort between local academic and public libraries.
