The Health & Wellness Library is operated by the Grossmont Healthcare District and opened in 2002. It was recently renamed in 2023 and is one of the few libraries in the country that focuses on only Health & Wellness resources. It was created to meet the health information needs of local residents by providing current health information from authoritative and reliable sources, in both print and online forms. Our library offers research assistance, free health education programs, pamphlets DVDs anatomical models, charts, online databases, fitness kits that can be checked out to try at home, and a website with extensive links to all major health topics.
The Library space is open to the public. We have 8 public computers (6 PCs and 2 iMacs), printing ($0.25 color, $0.10 b&w), two study rooms (first come, first served), and one conference room (may be reserved by eligible nonprofits). Learn more about our available space here.
Our materials can be checked out by those who live, work, attend school, or access health care services in East County. Check your eligibility using our District map here and sign up for a library card here.
