Batik: Block Printing on Silk & Satin with Nazanin Amiri-Meers
Join ArtReach San Diego instructors at the Health & Wellness Library for a Community. Access. Connection. art workshop to learn a diverse array of art mediums, techniques, and styles, from art journaling, acrylic painting, and collage to textile art.
In this workshop, you will learn the basics of Batik painting: the art of using hot wax on fabric to resist dyes and paints resulting in beautiful designs and imagery. You’ll create your own stunning, personalized fabrics of stamped repeated patterns. Each participant will be provided with silk/satin and other needed materials but is welcome to bring their own pieces as well.
When: Wednesday, July 17 | 10 AM – 12 PM

Sign-up process: interested participants may call, email, or sign up in person promptly after the previous session of the class has ended.
- Ex. I want to sign up for Batik from 10-12 on July 17th. We’re only adding names to our registration list after the previous session of Art Journaling from 10-12 on May 15th has ended due to a limited number of spots. Give us a call after 12 PM and we’ll gladly add you to our list. If all spots have been filled we’ll add you to our waitlist and notify you of any changes.
This is a GHD-sponsored program with priority given to East County community members who live, work, attend school, or have a health-related connection to East County. If there is space available, other community members may attend.
