Seniors are increasingly targeted by scammers looking for financial gain. According to the FBI’s 2020 Elder Fraud Report, more than 369,000 incidents of elder fraud resulted in the loss of $4.8 billion dollars. Join us at this free information session kicking off a County-wide series of six sessions presented by the FBI’s San Diego Elder Justice Task Force and the San Diego Seniors Community Foundation on the topic of elder fraud awareness. Learn about common elder fraud schemes, the signs and symptoms of elder fraud, and what law enforcement is doing to protect seniors and prosecute scammers.
