New Sharp Grossmont Hospital Care Clinic, which began serving patients in April 2018
Sharp Grossmont Hospital opened the doors to its new Care Clinic in April 2018. Located in the Grossmont Medical Arts building across from the hospital at 8851 Center Drive, the Care Clinic serves as a destination for patients with urgent medical needs that are non-life threatening.
According to Sharp Grossmont Hospital officials, over a third (35 percent) of its Emergency Department patients come in with needs that may be treated in another care environment, like an urgent care or clinic. The new Care Clinic aims to create an accelerated care path for all patients, reducing wait times considerably for patients who typically seek treatment in the ER for minor care issues.
“Sharp Grossmont is uniquely positioned to offer these expanded, high quality services to our patients, particularly in East County,” said Scott Evans, PharmD, CEO of Sharp Grossmont Hospital.
The clinic features 12 treatment rooms, a guest lounge, and an outdoor terrace. It serves patients with extended hours from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, serving as an alternative for patients seeking non-emergent care. Patients may also schedule online appointments at the Care Clinic.
